Post-Docs Stable Isotopes


Ion Microprobe Research Associates, UW-Madison
The University of Wisconsin is seeking two creative and productive scientists to pursue novel applications of our new CAMECA 1280 SIMS. This lab is optimized for in situ analysis of stable isotope ratios. For oxygen isotopes, precision of ±0.1” can be obtained from 10 micron spots.

Position 1. Interest in light stable isotopes, diagenesis and paleoclimate is required. Experience with SIMS, electron beam instruments, or mass-spectrometry is highly desirable.

Position 2. Experience with SIMS is required. Interest in light element stable isotope geochemistry is desirable.

Duties will include a mix of independent published research, development of new procedures, operation and maintenance of the 1280, and assistance and/or collaboration with guests to the lab.
