Just to be clear: I have doubts about the efficacy of 1:1 and how we assess its impact, but am very much in favor of mobile labs. We have something like 7 of them in the SU and are adding.

a flurry of action on the list AND anti_1-2-1 info? I may have to mark this day
on the calendar.

Our laptop labs get used at least 50% - 100% of the time (depends on
schedule, testing, exams, etc) and they are great, but I think the money
destined for 1-2-1 would be best spent on outfitting every classroom with a
mounted projector (LCD, multimedia whatever you want to call them).

One of our teachers with an interactive whiteboard has said that the projector
itself provides 90% of the educational value. $1000 for a projector is a HECK
of allot cheaper than $20,000 for laptops.

BTW VTcite fine here on IE6

PS anyone interested in developing knowledge based tech assessment
questions? We are looking at using an online survey to assess 6th and 8th
graders in our SU. Would love someone to share the work with.
