Hello again.. Apparently I was misinformed earlier today on the commenting period for the Section 800 ruling on that Fire Safety office information. I was called this afternoon and informed that the comment period ends THIS Friday, NOT last Friday. So, you have another week to comment on the possible ruling. Thanks.. Unfortunately, the comment window on this has passed, last Friday being the day. I did speak to two individuals this AM at the Vermont Fire Safety office and they did indicate that they are interested in your comments on this ruling. They will still accept other comments, though they may not be considered under the "official" comment period. I have not been able to secure a link or a document that spells out Section 800. For some reason, this is somehow not available on line. It is in a "code book" that each electrician has on hand. I searched far and wide on the NFPA website but could not find Section 800. At any rate, there are some human resources for questions you might have. All of these individuals were most accomodating to my questions and were interested in hearing other comments from the field of education tech coordinators, so I would urge you to contact them. Dick Schlieder is the technical person, knows more about the actual law and how it applies to entities. Call him, he is in the office today.) Department Lawyer 802-479.7539 [log in to unmask] If this is of concern to you, I urge you to contact them. I gave them a heads up as to what the chief concerns may be from this group.. 1. Costs associated with schools having to make small changes in existing computer placement and having to have electricians on hand to do so. 2. Increasing complexity of permitting issues around this sort of work at schools. May be others I am not considering.. Anyways, there you go...hope it helps..
