Hi all,
A few days ago I posted a question about the current technological status and future potential of CRDS, and thanks to all who replied.
I've learned that firstly, when asking a broad question about a specific technology I should refrain from mentioning a single manufacturer as this might be construed as bias on my own part and possibly get marketing departments in trouble. Secondly, everyone is very happy with current applications and judging by the cost and quality of data it's easy to see why.
Thirdly, and most important to my initial posting, is that reactions are at best mixed as to whether it will replace IRMS or keep its current niche, although work is advancing on adding peripheries so as to broaden the application beyond gases.
In short, I'll have to wait and see if CRDS really will spell the end for IRMS applications.
Again, thanks to everyone who contributed to the discussion!
