I recently went through the same installation fun, thanks to a computer
failure. I too tried to set up things using separate user accounts, but I
quickly determined that it simply wasn't going to work. Our computer is set
up using domain logins, which allows access to the computer from elsewhere
for data backup purposes. I set up an administrator account that can be used
for operating the MS. Isodat was installed while logged in to this account
and this is the only login account that Isodat will work with. I too tried
to work around it by trying to redirect Isodat, editing the registry, etc,
but to no avail. So I had to settle with the administrator setup.

Maybe there is a gifted wizard out there who can set it up differently, but
this muggle had to cut her losses and move on.

On another note, has anyone upgraded Windows XP to SP3 with Isodat 2.0
and/or 2.5? My disastrous computer failure mentioned above happened right as
I tried to do an update to SP3. So I was afraid to try to do it again on the
new computer and settled for SP3.

I have been working to replace the old REAL32/Isodat computer system on our 
Delta+ XL with the latest Windows XP/Isodat NT V2.0 (SP 2.67) data system. 
It has been a FUN experience but with Roger Husted's (Thermo) expert 
assistance and occasional reference to the Isogeochem archives, I have been 
able to get things up and running.

I have run into one problem which has both Roger and I puzzled. When I set 
up the system, I did so under an administrator account. As is my custom, I 
created a user account for the operators to use. When I tried to run the 
Isodat program logged in on this user account I got the following error 
messages:
Fiberline not detected, using fake (we know this, we don't have fiberline 
communications)
Error by open file 
D:Finnigan\Isodat\Global\~Graphics\\Meta_Mass_Spectrometer.emf
Error by open file D:Finnigan\Isodat\Global\~Graphics\\Turbo_Pump.emf
Error by open file D:Finnigan\Isodat\Global\~Graphics\\Rough_Pump.emf
Error by open file D:Finnigan\Isodat\Global\~Graphics\\Small_Arrow.emf

Note the use of "D" for the drive; this is the DVD, not the hard drive.
After 
these errors, nothing else occurs; the program stops.

I tried upgrading the user account to administrator status and putting the 
Isodat directory in the path but neither worked.

Any suggestions/ideas?
