Where possible let the system pump overnight before turning on the source but a vacuum 3e-6 mB or better will be OK. Wait a few minutes then do a rough source tune. A new filament will take a while to stabilize so don't expect much for several hours but it would be good to check the sensitivity and peak shape are as expected in case you have to go back in and adjust something. After a few hours re check the tuning and check for stability. Cheers Nick.. I guess this email is again specifically directed to IsoPrime CF users. Does anyone have any recommendations for how I should 'run in' my new filament?
