Hi Nick
I’ve been wanting to reply since
your reply but have been caught up with work. Could you tell me what you
provide with respect to Isoprime instruments ie service and support? In particular,
do you have anything to do with their filaments?
Cheers
Brett

parameters for a new filament
Hi Brett,
Start with 200uA
trap and leave other settings as they were for now.
Where possible let
the system pump overnight before turning on the source but a vacuum 3e-6 mB or
better will be OK.
Wait a few minutes
then do a rough source tune.
A new filament will
take a while to stabilize so don’t expect much for several hours but it
would be good to check the sensitivity and peak shape are as expected in case
you have to go back in and adjust something.
After a few hours re
check the tuning and check for stability.
Cheers
Nick..

Subject: [ISOGEOCHEM] Source
parameters for a new filament
Hi all
Thanks for all the advice regarding what I now know is a
completely dead filament. I guess this email is again specifically
directed to IsoPrime CF users.
Does anyone have any recommendations for how I should
‘run in’ my new filament? For example do I start the Trap
Current at 25uA and work up in 25uA increments/10 minutes with the remaining
parameters at standard settings?
Regards
Brett
