Dear Mike!

Thank you for your answer! I think you meant the handshaking parameters in the config menu. There I changed the "start on run out" from "high to low" to "low to high", but it did not effect a start of isodat. Isodat is "waiting for AS trigger". In the Isodat configuration I saw that the combi pal is configured to be connected via COM, which is the case. The VSP Purge&Trap has a different configuration. It is configured to be "connected through GC", which is the case, because there is no cable from the VSP to the Isodat PC. Does anyone know how to check the input signal from the autosampler to the Isodat PC especially when the autosampler is somehow indirectly connected via the GC?

Thanks a lot!

Simon,

There is a configuration in the GC itself that changes how the start signal works. I believe it is under the oven parameter but I am on the road and do not have one to look at. I will be working on one Wednesday if you can not figure it out by then leave a message at my office below.

Subject: [ISOGEOCHEM] "GC injected" signal not received by isodat

Dear Heavy Users!

We have a Thermo Trace GC Ultra connected to a Delta V Advantage via GC Isolink and Conflo IV. The GC is equipped with two different autosamplers (VSP purge&trap, combi pal). A data transfer switch is used to change the communication from/to the GC with either one of the two samplers. The data aquisition is controlled/started via isodat 3.0. The system has been running since some weeks ago when I was changing from on-column injection by the VSP to PTV splittless injection by the combi pal (then i was also working on some errors with the PTV...)
We now have the problem that isodat is not starting a "by device" run within a sequence. Isodat is as usually "waiting for AS trigger", but after the autosampler injected a sample and the GC switches from "ready to inject" to "initial temp" isodat is not starting to measure, executing the IRMS method respectively. While the previous steps of starting a run, waiting for "GC ready" and starting the injection by the autosampler is executed.
Since I was klicking through the isodat configurator unaware that I maybe changed something I loaded an isodat backup, but our problem stayed the same.
I should maybe add how the individual devices are connected to each other. The Isodat PC is connected via fiberline to the IRMS and the GC Isolink and by a COM cable to the GC. The GC is connected to the autosamplers via the "autosampler signals" plug-in and to the GC isolink and a second detector (Thermo ISQ) via the "generic handshake" plug-in (Y-cable). The connections are as they used to be when the measurement setup was running properly.
Does anyone has a clue why the GC start signal is not received by isodat or how I could check if the GC signal is sent to isodat. Or is there any advise what to do in general?
Thanks a lot!
