Hello:
I am pleased to announce that our partnership with the VT Lottery is continuing with a new opportunity for Vermont K-12 public schools. EDUCATE/MAKER
PROGRAM GRANT 2019
This will be announced tomorrow in the Weekly Field Memo but I am releasing it today to keep on a tight schedule.
This grant will help schools purchase equipment for Makerspace activities. $15,000 each will be awarded to two schools this Spring. $14,000 for equipment and $1,000 for professional development.
Please read the application THOROUGHLY to understand exactly how this must be orchestrated. Essentially, a school must shop for their equipment in advance and then invoice the Lottery. For those reasons, if schools are interested they
should waste no time in getting started on the process.
As with past Lottery grants, there is some restriction on schools with regards Free and Reduced Lunch, but there should be a significant number of schools that qualify. Note also the clause that “Reviewers will look favorably upon, but
not be limited to, applications with the following characteristics….” You will find detail within the application.

It is apparent that the deadline falls for some during school break, it could not be helped with the timeline. The application is fairly short, the time will need to be spent in hunting down the vendor and pricing on the equipment.
Thanks and best in your application submission.
