Bol, S.C. Jarvis and L. Mytton Aims and scope The conference aims to provide an opportunity for all users and manufacturers involved in Stable Isotope Mass Spectrometry to meet, discover and discuss the latest theoretical developments, advances in analytical instrumentation and in practical applications of stable isotope techniques. Format of the meeting The Stable Isotope Mass Spectrometry Users Group meeting will held at Crossmead Conference Centre in Exeter, Devon. The meeting will start at 12.00 hours on Tuesday 19th January, and end at approximately 17.00 hours on Wednesday 20th January 1999. The meeting will consist of oral and poster papers and workshops on techniques and application of stable isotopes. Time will be allocated for general discussion and there will be a poster session. The oral papers will include a keynote paper by Prof. T.W. Boutton from Texas A & M University (USA) on 'Stable Isotopes in Ecosystem Science'. Papers The organising committee invites offers of both oral and poster papers for consideration. Abstracts of papers will be available at the conference. In addition, subject to refereeing and editing, all oral and poster papers will be given the opportunity to be published in a special issue of Rapid Communications in Mass Spectrometry.
