Job advertisement Senior Academic Tenure Track Position / Geochemistry / Department of Geology-Petrology-Geochemistry / University Jean Monnet at Saint Etienne (France) The Department of Geology-Petrology-Geochemistry at the Saint Etienne University is seeking to fill a full-time teaching and research senior tenure track position. The contract should start from early october 1999. A Ph.D, experiences in PhD supervision and a professional qualification by the French National University Committee at the time of appointment is required. The incumbent will be expected to teach general geology topics at undergraduate level, in consequence basic knowledges of french language is required at the time of appointment. He will be expected to actively invest in future developments of new teaching paths and participate to the creation of a doctoral formation at Jean Monnet University. Applicants should have experience in the fields of petrology and geochemistry (crustal and mantle lithosphere). The incumbent should be integrated to the research unit "Magmas and Volcanoes" (UMR CNRS), based in Clermont-Ferrand and Saint Etienne. He will be expected to reinforce the local team whose main scientific thematic is focussed on fluid and magma lithospheric transfers.
