Yes, USGS, Reston is doing so.  We are analyzing BaSO4 prepared from
dissolved sulfate in water.  We typically analyze each sample 3 times
and find 1-sigma standard deviations of the order of 0.2 per mill.
We normalize results to VCDT using IAEA-SO-5, IAEA-SO-6, and IAEA-S-1
reference materials.

We have had no problems with purity of the SO2.  Readily available SO2
works fine.
