Hi from Hinesburg I would never think of charging a taxpayer for a copy of their tax bill. It takes a second to print it on the Laser printer. It has been my understanding that we can only charge what it cost to copy. (is that three cents?) This time of year there are usually many many requests, but it is for a short period of time and giving citizens a copy of their tax bill places no great burden on this office. -----Original Message----- From: Colleen Haag <[log in to unmask]> To: [log in to unmask] <[log in to unmask]> Date: Monday, April 17, 2000 9:23 AM Subject: copying of tax bills Hi Cheryl, I too am concerned about the number of tax bills and federal property sheet we have to obtain for our residents. Most of us want them faxed to their accountant immediately!!!! One man even asked me to fax it to him in his car!!! That's one for the books!! I have not comfirmed this but was told that the town of Colchester charges two dollars for each requested tax bill!!! I wish we could have a standardized policy on this as many of my taxpayers have property in multiple towns and are charged or not charged depending on the town's policy. We do not charge but are thinking about doing it!!! Colleen Haag Shelburne
