I think it is an unfortunate way to do business:

1.  Your website listed the Purple unitard in medium, which I ordered.

2.  Then you send me email saying no purple in medium.

3.  I ask "Are there other colors in medium?"

4.  You say "We have chocolate in medium."

5.  I say "Good, ship it."

6.  You say, "Sorry, the order has already been shipped.  Please order
again."

Crappy.
