There was a great blue heron at the Shelburne Bay Park today,
right on the edge of the lake, could be seen from the parking lot.
Along the trail that follows the lake I saw one pair each of
bufflehead, common mergansers and hooded mergansers. Of
course, there were mallards, gulls and canadian geese. On the
edge of the lake between the railroad underpass and the access
area there were 2 male common pintails and one female. All these
in just one hour! Jo Ann Lafayette, Burlington
