Weybridge, June 21, '02

We have had DOWNY WOODPECKERS sipping from our hummingbird feeders for at least three summers now. Although quite territorial, the hummingbirds seem to have little to say about these "intruders."

Latest successful fledgings on our property (Route 23 near Lemon Fair) include: SCARLET TANAGER, PHOEBE, BLUE BIRD, ROBIN, SONG SPARROW. Probably also CARDIAL, COMMON YELLOWTHROAT and CATBIRD. TREE SWALLOWS due any minute.

Happy Summer Solstice, everyone! Barb Brosnan
