The Sun & Ski will give you vouchers for discount meals at Whiskers Restaurant across the road......you must ask for these, however as they are not volunteered.......they also have discount vouchers for Dutch Pancake Cafe...... Go to McCarthys for early breakfast or bring your own and eat in your room.... I first skied Stowe in 1946.......we stayed in a rooming house that took skiers......just North of the Village on Rt 100.......I think the tariff was $8. person with meals!!!!!!! The owner spoke French and minimal English....... The single chair on the Mountain and a rope at the Toll House were the only lifts. Erling Strom had a rope behind his Inn but I think that was a few years later.
