When I was a kid, we often stayed at the Golden Eagle, advancing from
efficiencies to apartments to full chalet.

Before that, we sampled Town & Country ('66?), Stoweflake ('67?), what
is now called Northern Lights (68'?)

When I wasn't a kid, I have stayed at

o Stowe Motel http://www.stowemotel.com/ (owned by son of Stowe's first
ski instructor)
        quaint, basic, cheap
o Andersons http://www.andersensaustrianinn.com/
nicest, cheap out-of-season, very good Austrian cuisine, superb Easter
Brunch
o Ski and Sun http://www.stowesunandski.com/
basic, cheap, "breakfast in-bed" continental breakfast delivered to
room, year round outdoor heated pool

I liked them all.
