Found this interesting article in FTO on ski technology, research,
and 'testing' at Mt. Hood.

Has anyone seen John Howe's (of Waterford, Maine) "The New Skiing
Mechanics" that was published last fall?  (Skip, Guido?)  Wouldn't mind
trying to get a copy of that.

Depressing note - Grimmaced and flinched at the comment "It has been
determined...that the average skier on the typical New Engand ski trail -
perhaps 60 feet wide - needs skis about 160 centimeters...long to make
carved, full turns resembling ribbon candy. "

Jeez, 60 ft wide.  Thankful for MRG, Smuggs, Stowe....
