And here I was a thinkin' it was platte as almost "plotta" (with the "a"
pronounced as in "ball" or "hall"), and don't forget to "uh" the "e"
along the lines of the swamp-German dialect term that it is. (Meaning
"flat chill", which may be an idiomatic expression, or "sudden chill",
depending on how the dialect was spelled & pronounced compared to modern
Dutch.)

There must be an obscure story as to why they named the range "cat's
chill", eh? :-) (ooh _frosty_ kitty!)
