Internet2 Fall 2002 Member Meeting Netcast Internet2 will be netcasting various sessions from upcoming member meeting in Los Angeles, CA from October 28th - 30th. Sessions to be netcast include the Opening Plenary featuring a panel of University President's sharing their perspective on Internet2 and "Virtual Los Angeles," a demonstration from the Urban Simulation Lab of UCLA. The Second Plenary features Scott Fisher, Chair of USC's Interactive Media Division in the School of Cinema-Television, speaking on unique location-based entertainment experiences and out-of-classroom educational opportunities. The latest Internet2 Land-Speed Record will also be presented during this session. Other featured netcast sessions include the launch of the California Orthopedic Research Network (CORN) featuring a live surgery over the network. The Performance Event, “Cultivating Communities: Dance in the Digital Age” where live performers on stage will interact with performers at remote locations in real-time, will also demonstrate the capabilities of the network. Viewers will have the option to watch the netcast using Real Media, Windows Media, IPTV, and NCAST MPEG-1. Other experimental technologies are available.
