Last Tuesday, one of the ski patrollers I rode up on the lift with thought
it would open next weekend the 14th.
The official opening is suppose to be the 21th.

My wife, Linda and I talked with Dan and Ben waiting in the Sterling lift
line, nearly 25 minutes long today.
Afternoon I skinned up Chilcoot, to check out the M1 lift and ski Doc's.
They have indeed blasted down about 20 feet into the rock. The bullwheel is
now where the old lift ramp was, but down a little lower. The set up is
exactly the same as M2, you get off right at the bullwheel. Obviously the
cable counter weight is now at the bottom of the mtn. The last few towers
are much lower and they may have to restrict skiing directly under the
chairs near the top. There is at steel staircase to get up to the Ski
patrol warming shack which is now much higher than the blasted unloading
zone. Everything on top looked completed, but the were some people working
on top of the bullwheel.

Had a nice run down through the wind packed power on Doc's. Nice end of a
nice day.
