Hello.

I had a documentary on VHS tape and needed to convert it to digital video.
Originally when I tried it by hooking up the camera to the vhs recorder, the
cannon would pop up a macrovision error message (almost impossible because
to my knowledge they were not using macrovision at the time the video was
created, though I might be wrong). To capture the video, I had to go
through a tv card in my pc and record the content (via the tv card software)
to my hard drive. My question is how do I go from the avi file that I
created back to the digital camera on a pc? I have a copy of Pinnacle
studio 8.3, but everytime I place this video into the software my machine
freezes. I am running XP on a caps machine I got last year.

Basically, I am looking for some shareware or freeware that will allow me to
hook up a dv camera via firewire and export a viceo (avi) from my machine to
the camera.

thank you

andrew
