To hopefully answer some recently asked questions regarding video to digital and back...... Media Lab 4, our newest system in the Multimedia Development Center downstairs in Bailey/Howe Library, is supposed to be able to this. The .avi file could be on a cd or brought down to the computer via FTP. The computer has a video capture USB device that is connected to a VCR and also has standard RCA output jacks that could go to DV. The 3 MAC's in the MDC have the firewire ports and we do have a DV deck that can be attached. This would probably be the easiest. Wesley Wright is the expert contact for that one. Both MAC and PC have CD/RW and DVD/RW capabilities as well. For a more detailed descriptions of the CDM, please follow this link: http://www.uvm.edu/~jabradle/media_resources/ The equipment is here for faculty, staff and students to use and learn with. It's all done on a sign-up basis, but walk ins are welcome. Hope this helps, Judi -- ********************************** *Judi A.
