Colleen,

The town of South Burlington only records them in the land records if the UCC is checked off for recording in the land records.  If the box is checked off and the fee is incorrect, we will call the orginator and ask what they want.  99% of the time they do not know how they want it recorded - as a UCC or in the land records or both!!!

Hope you are finally getting warm after Saturday!!!!

Subject: UCC fees

Hi to all:

I received a call from a paralegal who is trying to do a closing and has to file UCC’s in 25 diffferent towns.  This is a fixture filing and by statute it is to go into the land records i.e. copied and indexed into our land record volumes vs a UCC file.   This paralegal is finding vast differences and no consistencies in the fees we are charging.  What are other town doing in this respect?  I ‘d like to get back to her as soon as possible.

Thanks for your input.
