A friend of mine (an experienced observer) just called and said he saw a duck that he tentatively identified as a first-year male Falcated Duck at the Coast Guard landing at the Burlington waterfront. There is no open water, but a large flock of Mallards and Black Ducks are milling about, looking for handouts. Anyone who is down along the waterfront might want to check out this bird. It was not banded, but certainly vagrant waterfowl are suspect as escapees. Allan *************************** Allan M.
