You know, it's just now occurred to me that early April is a
unheard-of-early date for Semipalmated Sandpiper in Vermont. I now don't
know what I was thinking (or seeing) in that flooded field in Plainfield
yesterday. I only had beat-up binos in the car and simply might have blown
the call on some distant, scrunched-up Killdeer. How embarrassing. (It was
blowing snow, after all.) Stranger things have happened, but I'll go
double-check today. Sorry.
