The Department of Geography, University of Wales Swansea is currently advertising two lectureships in Climatic or Environmental Change (details on www.jobs.ac.uk under 'Environmental Studies'). The Department has a newly refurbished Stable Isotope Laboratory with two PDZ Europa 20-20 machines equipped for both bulk and compound-specific applications. It also has a Biogeochemistry Laboratory available for the extraction of biomarker compounds from sediments and soils, and is currently planning to refurbish its laboratory facilities for palaeoenvironmental and earth-surface process studies as part of a new interdepartmental Institute of Environmental Sustainability (Geography/Biological Sciences/Chemistry/Engineering). The Department also hosts CLASSIC (a new NERC Centre of Excellence: the Climate and Land-Surface Systems Interaction Centre). Applicants with interests in global change and earth-system science are particularly welcome.
