June 25, 2003: 1:15 PM EDT WASHINGTON (Reuters) - A music industry group said Wednesday it plans to sue hundreds of individuals who use "peer to peer" software to illegally distribute copyrighted songs over the Internet. The Recording Industry Association of America said it would gather evidence against users of peer-to-peer services like Kazaa starting Thursday, and file lawsuits against them over the next several weeks. RIAA members include labels owned by AOL Time Warner Inc, Vivendi Universal, Sony Corp., Bertelsmann AG and EMI Group Plc.
