Last night went down to Brilyea and we were treated to very few shorebirds. All of them appeared on the East Branch with two milling around on the far side from the parking lot. A few others flew throughA half dozen or so Solitary Sandpipers came in right next to the parking lot and provided brief but excellent views. Only one Great Egret and less than 20 Great Blue Herons. The Black-crowned Night Herons are still hanging around in small numbers. Today on the way to work coming North on Route 7, just pass the Nordic Farm in Charlotte there were at least a dozen Cattle Egrets very close to the road. A great way to start the day! Happy birding, Mike, Heather and Trudy
