All,
Just a reminder that as Vermont Breeding Bird Atlas work finshes up and folks venture out to do some fall birding that there is still a great opportunity to contribute your sightings to ongoing monitoring efforts at Vermont's Important Bird Areas (IBAs). Audubon Vermont is continuing to develop year round monitoring projects at the state's IBAs and is using the new Ebird online data entry and storage system developed by Cornell Lab of Ornithology and National Audubon. The Ebird protocols and data will eventually be combined with the Vermont Ebird "portal" being developed by Cornell. IBAs around the state include Dead Creek, Missisquoi National Wildlfe Refuge, Herricks Cove and Victory Bog to name a few. This is a great way to keep your birding and data collection skills honed as you wait for the next atlas season to come around. If you are interested in learning more about the IBA Monitoring Program and how you can participate give me a write or call.
