Mary,

Look at Purdue University's copyright in the classroom page.
http://www.lib.purdue.edu/uco/instruction/classroom/index.html

Also, Indiana University has a good Fair Use checklist at
http://copyright.iupui.edu/checklist.htm . It is also downloadable as a
pdf file.

The Health Science Librarians of Illinois are addressing this in our
annual conference through a keynote speaker, speaking to the needs of
hospital librarians in particular.

If you are a for-profit institution, it would be more difficult to
use "fair use" for the first use of materials, but thats a whole other
discussion.
