Last weekend the bird activity in my backyard was very busy. I had a
carolina wren and white crowned sparrows along with the usual feeder birds. But, by
far, the most active spot in the yard was not the ample buffet I had provided,
but the bird bath. The robins were lined up waiting their turn for a dip.
Just a reminder of the importance of water once the lawn furniture, hoses, and
summer stuff has been stored away for winter. Water is a lure that will keep
winter interesting for us birdwatchers.
