Hiked Nosedive with 7:30 am start. Solid 1 1/2" base in the parking lot.
Half way up the new snow turned into something like 3". But the fun started
above the sugar shack- a solid thousand vert of 6"-`12" untracked that had a
firm base.
At the top of the quad it was decision time. Cut those untracked thousand
vert and then sacrifice the snowboard to the Rock Board Altar of the Early
Season to eak out the full 2,100' vertical or follow the masses of
simpleminded salmon swiming the tilted porcelain stream downhill.
Mnnn. Fresh tracks.
Trashed snowboard.
Fresh tracks.
Trashed snowboard.
Something about Roger Clemens popped into my head at that point. "It's a
long season," he responded when asked about his rigorous training regime.
I swam with the fishes.
