downtown decorationsHi Mike: In Richford we have a beautification committee, which along with another group of locals, raise money during the year to pay for the decorations. When it is time to put them up the Highway crew and the local power company work together to get them up. The town does pay for the electricity. We have a tree lighting ceremony the first Sunday of Dec. followed by a Christmas Concert at the Town Hall. Chorus is made up of local talent. Our park is decorated very nicely each year. All this from one of the financially poorest town in the State, but very rich in spirit and tradition. Volunteers, contracted service (if so, who do you use), some other way? Thanks! Mike B.
