A half dozen birder's at the TS site today (Dec 31) were not able to locate the bird. There was a decided lack of any bird activity in the area, perhaps due in part to prolonged gunshot noises - target practice? - coming from the hollow below the field on the west side of Pleasant St. When the semi-automatic bullets started zinging past us and one cracked a tree near where we were standing, we gave up and left the area. ------- Mona Bearor South Glens Falls, NY Southern Adirondacks ----- Original Message ----- From: "JoAnn Lafayette" <[log in to unmask]> To: <[log in to unmask]> Sent: Wednesday, December 31, 2003 1:09 PM Subject: Re: [VTBIRD] Townsend's Solitaire > Hello everyone and Happy New Year, > > I am thinking of going to see the TS tomorrow or Friday.
