Hello UVM,
  I hope you are all enjoying the warm pre-spring weather.  A quick reminder
that there are no classes (unless otherwise specified) next Tuesday, March 2nd
due to Vermont Town Meeting Day.  I encourage everyone that is registered to
vote in Vermont to go out to the polls on Tuesday and exercise your right to
vote.

Here are a few events in the next week:

Friday, February 27th (Tonight!) - WINGSFEST '04: The tradition returns! Come
for 9PM, Sample free wings and pizza from local vendors and vote for the best!
Rock with a free concert and free food until midnight; be sure to stay for UVM’s
very own Kwilt! Sponsored by UVMPM & IRA.

Saturday, February 28th - Soul Food Social: the Black Student Union will be
hosting the event as a close to Black History Month.  Come to Billings’ North
Lounge at 5PM on Saturday.  Faculty, Staff and Students are welcome, admission
is free of charge, however donations will be accepted.  Please come out and
support The Black Student Union.  If anyone wishes to volunteer setting up or

Sunday, February 29th – Men’s Basketball: the Cat’s play their last game on home
turf against the University of Maine.  Limited tickets are available now at the
Patrick Gym ticket office.  Tip-off is at 1PM.

Monday, March 1st – Literary Orations, hosted by the Golden Key International
Honors Society.  From 3:30-5PM on the Marble Court of Fleming Museum members of
the UVM community, including President Fogel, Robert Taylor, Philip Baruth,
Anthony Magistrale, Alfred “Tuna” Snider and Z. Philip Ambrose will each read
from their own works or other works of interest.  The event is free and there
will be a reception with refreshments immediately following.

Monday, March 1st – Ira Allen Chapel, 7PM:  Minnijean Brown-Trickey.  Ms.
Brown-Trickey is one of the "Little Rock Nine," the first Afro-American students
to integrate Southern schools as a result of the Brown v Board of Education.
She is a social justice advocate and trainer.  Tickets are available at the
Center for Cultural Pluralism, ALANA Student Center, Women's Center, and Peace
and Justice Center.

Wednesday, March 3 - 2 to 6 PM, Billings This job fair will feature employers
with full time, part time, internship and seasonal opportunities in a wide
range of fields, including education, environmental, finance, non-profit,
retail, sales and technical.  For a list of employers scheduled to attend, log

Thursday, March 4th – 2PM in Cook Commons the 2nd and final debate between SGA
Presidential and Vice-Presidential candidates will take place.  Please come out
and education yourself before elections.  Elections for President and
Vice-President will take place March 9th and 10th.  For more information, or

Ticked-off to the point that you feel the need to take action?!
Tell us your problems!  Visit the SGA website and utilize a great resource to
let the Student Government know what your concerns are.  Hold the SGA
leadership accountable to its constituents: Students at UVM.  Simply visit the
SGA website @ http://www.uvm.edu/sga and hit the link to “tixmeoff” on the left
hand side of the page, take a minute to fill it out and send your concerns to
the SGA.
