Hey UVMers,
Welcome back, I hope you all had a safe and relaxing spring break.
Congratulations to all of the UVM club and varsity athletic teams. Many of our
teams are ranked high in their divisions and were regional or even national
competitors. Best of luck to all teams and players with upcoming competitions:
Go Cats Go!
An excellent opportunity to get involved on campus is fast approaching.
Student Government Association Senate Elections are right around the corner;
petition packets to get your name on the ballot are available today! A packet
containing election guidelines, descriptions of the different SGA Committees, a
signature sheet (you must get 80 student signatures) and a platform sheet is
available in the SGA office in the basement of Billings. The petitions are due
back Friday, April 2nd at noon. The elections will be held Wednesday, April 7th
and Thursday the 8th, 9AM – 4PM. For more information do not hesitate to
contact the SGA’s Secretary of Elections, Lena Darnall with any questions:

Office of Conflict Resolution:
The Office of Conflict Resolution, located in the Allen House here on UVM’s
campus, is here as a resource for students that provides free and confidential
conflict resolution and mediation support and services to all students. In the
coming week OCR will be conducting its annual survey in order to set their
priorities for the coming year; the survey only takes two minutes to complete
and is anonymous, please take the time to help OCR out. For more information
about OCR you can contact Bruce Duncan at [log in to unmask]

Battle of the Bands:
This is a last minute reminder that the Battle of the Bands’ deadline to
register is this Friday, March 25th. If you have a band and are interested in
competing for a chance to open for Spring Fest ’04 on the main stage be sure to
send your name, band name and contact information to [log in to unmask]

Do you have extra points? Or extra non-perishable food items?:
UVM’s Food Salvage Program is the only organization that serves a free meal on
Sunday evenings all year long. They serve 100+ hungry and homeless people in
the community. Recently, the number of meals needed each week has increased
and the food supplies are rapidly decreasing! Food Salvage is asking if you
have canned goods, extra points, or other non-perishable supplies to bring them
to the Volunteers in Action office on the first floor in Billings (right next
to SGA).
Food Salvage is also hosting a Hunger Banquet; April 18th, at 6pm at the King
Street Youth Center. Tickets are $5.00 for an all you can eat meal. Donations
from the past include Pizza Hut, Dominos, UNOS, Marriot dining services, Papa
Franks, Marcos, Ben and Jerry’s and many more! This is an opportunity to sit
down and eat a meal with the homeless: a truly priceless experience. Tickets
are on sale April 13th-16th in Cook Commons.
And as if that wasn’t enough we are holding a fund raiser on April 22nd at UNOS
Pizza. Free coupons are available at the VIA office. Just bring the coupons
for a Take out or Eat in meal and Food Salvage receives 20% of the bill. We
are a non-profit agency and all funds go directly back into the community.
Thanks for any help you can give!

let the Student Government know what your concerns are. Hold the SGA
leadership accountable to its constituents: Students at UVM. Simply visit the
