To
the University Community:
During the past several months residents of Redstone Apartments on Redstone
Campus have encountered an adult white male who approaches low windows and patio
sliding doors to expose his genitals and touch himself in front of the residents
inside. He is additionally described as 5'9" to 6'0" tall, dark
reddish/grayish hair, heavy build (estimated up to 300 lbs), sometimes with
facial hair and sometimes without, wearing dark clothing (including shirts,
jackets and specifically sweat/exercise pants).
Police Services has received no reports that he has attempted to harm, or
harmed any of the residents nor have there been reports of his trying to enter
apartments.
If you have information concerning this matter, please contact Detective
Kris Carlson at the Chittenden Unit for Special Investigations (859-3084) or
report on-line at
www.uvm.edu/police.

"Crime
Awareness" is an integral component of "crime prevention." Knowledge that
crimes occur encourages communities to actively participate in crime prevention
efforts (e.g., locking doors, walking in well lit areas at night with others,
reporting suspicious activity to police) and, therefore, creates a safer
environment. Lack of information invites complacency. The following message was
approved for campus-wide distribution by UVM Police Chief Gary J. Margolis to
alert you to an incident, to promote safety on campus and, in part, to comply
with the Jeanne Clery Disclosure of Campus Security Policy and Campus Crime
Statistics Act of 1990.
