It's been pointed out to me by one of my colleagues here that I misread
Benoit's question.

Most publication types in MEDLINE are subsets of journal article.

Clinical trial has subsets.

Review has subsets.

I have not found a list with this documented either.

Subject: [MEDLIB-L] ? Publication Type: hierarchic list

Dear colleagues,

I know this alphabetical list of Publications Type Category :
http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/entrez/query.fcgi?cmd=Retrieve&db=mesh&list_uids
=1000080&dopt=Full

Do you know if there is a hierarchic list?

Thank you very much
