UVM Women's Hockey 2004-05 Schedule Announced

BURLINGTON, Vt. - The University of Vermont women's hockey team typically plays one of the toughest schedules in the nation. Last year, UVM played 12 games against teams that finished ranked among the top 10 in the nation. The 2004-05 campaign will be more of the same. Vermont will play 11 games versus teams that were ranked among the top 10 in both the US College Hockey Online and USA Today/American Hockey Magazine Top 10 Women's Hockey Polls in 2003-04.

The Catamounts open the 2004-05 campaign, their last as a member of the ECAC Women's Hockey League, on October 8th and 9th at Sacred Heart and Quinnipiac, respectively. UVM hosts New Hampshire in its home opener on October 12th at Gutterson Fieldhouse. The Wildcats finished ranked #8 among the top 10 teams in the nation last season.

Other non-league opponents include future Hockey East foes Maine, Providence and Boston College. The Catamounts will also head west during the semester break in January to face Minnesota State-Mankato on January 2nd and 3rd. Vermont continues its trip with a stop at North Dakota on January 8th and 9th.

Vermont kicks off ECAC action on the road at Yale (Nov. 5) and Princeton (Nov. 6), before returning to Gutterson for a home-and-home series with Dartmouth (Nov. 12 and Nov. 13). The season culminates with the ECAC playoffs begin March 4th at the highest seeds.
