No that was the following La Nina season.  La Ninas make for awesome winters
in BC and the PNW, and cause a writeoff season in Taos and to a lesser
extent, Tahoe.

During our first Whistler trip in early March 1999, Briar and I experienced
four straight days of 1-2 foot dumps each morning, on the way to a 600+"
season.
