While driving to and from Dead Creek today I twice saw a male Ring-necked Phesant, presumably the same one. The first time I saw it crossing the road at the junction of Rt. 23 and 17 on the Addison/Weybridge town line at about Noon. The second time was again on the side of the road about a mile away on 23 past the Lemon Fair Bridge at about 2:00 PM. That's a first for me outside of captivity.

Highlights at the Dead Creek Brilyea access incuded 1 Bald Eagle, 1 Peregrine Falcon, 1 Red-tailed Hawk, 2 Osprey, 3 Northern Harrier, 3 Piliated Woodpecker, 3 Great Egret, 7 Great Blue Heron, 1 Double-crested Cormorant, and 5 Pied-billed Grebe.
