PLEASE SHARE THIS EMAIL WITH CONCERNED ADVOCATES Dear Friends and Colleagues, On Thursday, October 7th at 4:30 p.m. we are holding an informational protest on the steps of the Ira Allen Chapel at UVM in an effort to share alternative points of view to those espoused by noted, controversial, philosopher, Peter Singer of Princeton University. Singer is infamous within the disability rights community for his reported views regarding the lives and value of people with disabilities. He has been invited by the John Dewey Honors Program to give a lecture at 5:00 p.m. in the Chapel. Prior to his lecture, please join us in affirming the value, contributions, and civil rights of all people -- in this case, especially people with disabilities. We encourage protesters to bring written information to distribute, signs, or other materials to get our message out. Please, also think about preparing questions to ask, because Professor Singer will be taking questions at the end of his lecture. If we don't speak up as a community, who will? Hope to see as many of you there as possible. Michael Giangreco & Eli Clare -- ***** EFFECTIVE MAY 24, 2004 ****** ******CHANGE OF ADDRESS ******* Michael F.
