"Its been a long December and there's reason to believe, maybe this year will be better than the last?" Last year was a nmad good one. This one started out with a powder day. On the quad at 8:05, after fighting sanding trucks and lines of cars through Waterbury Center and Stowe. It rained most of the way to Waterbury on 89, then turned to snow near the exit. A slushy inch through Moscow, turning drier and deeper on the access road. 2-4" at the parkinglot and snowing heavily. Four top to bottom runs, no stopping when time is of the essence. 5" in drifts, 0" where the howling wind happened to bust through. Soft, medium density snow, not too wet, certainly not too dry. By the time I left at 9am, the open trail(s) were tracked out and starting to get a little choppy. Snow turned to rain around the Matterhorn and roads were clear and easy back to work in Waterbury Center. YEEEEEAAAAAHHHHHHH. -Evan - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - SkiVt-L is brought to you by the University of Vermont.
