Jason,

Just curious, what kind of boots do you ride and how old are they?  It
sounds like your toebox is collapsing, which definitely shouldn't
happen.  I size my boots a little small too, but I haven't had the
problem you experienced, but then again my boots are also brand new.
They're also Burtons, and I suspect Burton boots are shaped to
accommodate the capstraps, more so than say another manufacturer.

I also recall talkign to a guy at a shop last year who didn't get a
good fit with the capstrap on his old boots, but once he got a new
pair of boots said they worked much better.

Of course, as you said, though I'm sure Burton wouldn't be upset if
you had to buy a new pair of boots to get the most out of your
capstraps, if it ain't broken, and you were comfortable with your old
toestraps, why fix it?
