A very short article, "Curry Pigment May Help in Treating Alzheimer's,"
in the Los Angeles Times on January 1, 2005 said, "Curcumin, the yellow
pigment in curry spice, can inhibit the formation of amyloid plaque in
the brains of mice with Alzheimer's disease and can break up existing
plaque, UCLA researchers reported in the Journal of Biological
Chemistry. " There was also mention that India has a low incidence of
Alzheimer's.
