We use the latest version of Open Office in one of our elementary
schools in a lab environment with no problems. We set the defaults to
save as M$ type documents (.doc, .ppt, .xls) so that if they try and use
it in MS Office on another machine it works without any conversion
issue.
We tried using it at our high school and got too many grumbly, grumpy
users. They wanted all the wizards and templates that come with MS
Office so we have basically surrendered and gone back to MS except where
we are running Linux desktops. -Jean
