Had a hunch that I would hear a Woodcock Friday eve. sure enough, at
the
low-light intensity, about 6:30.. I wandered outside and was
rewarded
with two singing and aerial displaying males. Ah
spring.
Yesterday..on a walk on a dirt road to the Un Village dam we spotted
a
season first butterfly. Nice tan band/border on the hind wing, dark,
with some minor spots. So fun to see, a Mourning Cloak.
