The University of Virginia Health System Claude Moore Health Sciences
Library is seeking a Coordinator for Educational Technology and
Research.  The Library is a leader within the UVA Health System in
supporting new information technologies and provides a dynamic
environment supporting innovative services, including an extensive
educational program.

As a member of the Library's Learning Resources Center, this position is
responsible for the development, implementation, and dissemination of
education technologies and related research for library staff and users.
A primary responsibility of this position is the daily operation of the
Media Studio, the Library's Macintosh-based multimedia lab. The
Educational Technology and Research Coordinator will collaborate with
Library faculty and staff to design, create, and implement library-wide
educational technology projects such as Web-based learning modules. The
Coordinator will provide consultation to library staff and users on
instructional design principles relevant to education technology
projects.   Also the coordinator will design, perform, and disseminate
library research projects in local and national publications in
collaboration with other faculty.

Qualifications for the position include a Master's degree in
Instructional Technology or Library Science (ALA Accredited) or related
field, with one year working in a library or academic environment using
technology for user services and teaching.  Other qualifications
include: Experience using Macintosh computers, ability to troubleshoot
software and hardware problems and to quickly learn new software;
experience with the practical application of instructional design
principles and technologies in an educational environment; and
experience with scholarly writing and publication; knowledge of the
practical application of research theory and methodologies in a public
service setting; excellent communication and interpersonal skills;
ability to manage multiple priorities in a changing environment; and a
demonstrated commitment to service and teamwork.

Experience working in a health sciences setting and membership in the
Medical Library Association Academy of Health Information Professionals
is highly desirable.

This is a faculty position at the rank of Lecturer.  Salary: $45,000/yr
minimum with excellent benefits and relocation support.  Position will
remain open until filled.  However, preference will be given to those
